Our Story

We are a family from the Coa Valley, rooted in Castelo Melhor for more than six generations.

In this land of schist and light, where the River Côa guards the prehistoric rock engravings of Penascosa — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — we cultivate vines and olive trees that withstand summers of 40°C and the droughts that shape the character of our fruits.

Our olive groves have more than a century of history. The family's first olive oils were produced at the beginning of the 20th century, a continuity that spans generations and preserves the traditional varieties of the Douro Superior.

The Segredos do Côa and Socalcos do Côa wines are born on the schist terraces of this family estate, from grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, adapted to this extreme and unique climate.

Everything we produce comes from this land. And bears its name.
